Software Engineering and Consulting Background
Autobiographical software development history by Harry Garland.
Management Information Systems, Custom Database Applications Every business software solution involves keeping information organized, manageable, and accessible. Since 1997, my 3-tier database application projects aimed to keep company data efficient and organized. First using Access, then ASP, and now in Flex ActionScript with XML and web services.
Web Marketing From 2000, my focus was to provide marketing departments with effective technology to enable greater efficiency. Tools streamlined marketing campaigns, web content creation, and customer management. Created new channels for outbound marketing campaigns and sales leads.
Communications and Collaboration My first experience with multiuser collaboration started in 1994, when I developed applications for multinode BBS servers. This was a perfect transition from programming as a hobby to programming as a freelance software development consultant. [PCBoard on Wikipedia]
